LAST WEEK'S ROUNDUP: A very light dressed trade surfaced
Wednesday in parts of Nebraska and Iowa at $175 but then the
standoff started and held until late Friday afternoon. The
South blinked first with live deals at mostly $111, generally
$1 to $2 lower than the previous week's weighted averages. A
few dressed deals in the North were reported at $173 to $175,
the previous week's weighted average in Nebraska was $179.06.
According to the Friday afternoon Mandatory reports total
weekly trade volumes were as follows: KS 260; NE 4,514; TX 35;
CO 0; IA 4,184. Keep in mind that these totals came out before
trade developed late Friday afternoon, so it will be
interesting to see just what actual trade volume totals will be
when they are released later this morning.

DTN MORNING COMMENTS: The country is typically quiet this
morning with packers focusing on the collection of new
showlists. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed
until the second half of the week. Beef cutouts are expected to
be lower with light box movement.

For the week ending July 07, 2018, Imported Beef Passed for
Entry in the U.S. totaled 35,118, 98.27% of the previous week
and 87.52% of the prior 4-week average.
